TIGERS PULL AWAY FROM LATROBE,
ADVANCE TO SEMIFINALS
On
Tuesday evening, North Allegheny did something in a single match setting
that they hadn’t done in more than a month and a half—lose a set. That
opening set defeat proved to be only a minor setback, though, as the
Tigers stormed back to defeat Latrobe 3-1 at home in the WPIAL Class AAA
quarterfinals. North Allegheny took down the Wildcats by set scores of
23-25, 25-22, 25-13 and 25-10. (More)

NA LACROSSE CLIPS BLACK HAWKS TO
ADVANCE TO SEMIFINALS
Senior Joe Griffin tallied a hat trick to help
lift the North Allegheny Boys Lacrosse Team to a 7-4 victory over the
Bethel Park Black Hawks at Newman Stadium on Wednesday night in the
quarterfinals of the WPIAL Division 1 playoffs. Griffin opened the
scoring in the contest with a goal at 9:56 of the first quarter to give
the Tigers a 1-0 lead. North Allegheny had to battle through the
remainder of the quarter against a feisty Black Hawks squad that had
four man-up situations in the period. (More)

TIGERS WRANGLE MUSTANGS IN WPIAL
QUARTERFINALS, 5-0
North Allegheny pitchers
Mitch Machi and James Meeker combined for a seven-hit
shutout on Wednesday afternoon as the Tigers defeated the Plum Mustangs,
5-0, in the Class AAAA WPIAL Quarterfinals from Matulevic Field. Machi
sidestepped his way through numerous jams to blank the Mustangs through
five innings. Meeker earned his first save of the season with two
innings of clean relief, striking out three. Thanks to Machi’s ability
to hold Plum at bay, the junior hurler was named the Wright Automotive
Player of the Game. (More)
