Eight NA Swimmers Post WPIAL-Qualifying Times At Last Ditch Meet
Sophomores Kennedy Urban, Katie Davis, Daniella Torres and Thomas McCaffrey each posted WPIAL-qualifying times in two individual events as North Allegheny swimmers posted a total of 12 qualifying times at the Last Ditch meet held on Saturday, February 14 at North Allegheny Senior High School.
For the girls, Urban qualified in the 200-yard individual medley (2:19.64) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.26), Torres qualified in the 50-yard freestyle (25.68) and 100-yard freestyle (55.97), and Davis qualified in the 50-yard freestyle (26.09) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:32.96).
For the boys, McCaffrey qualified in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.65) and 100-yard backstroke (59.03). Other qualifiers for the boys were junior Colin MacDonald in the 100-yard freestyle (51.05), freshman Zach Shuckrow in the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.31), and sophomores Brett Edwards in the 50-yard freestyle (23.50) and Eric Staab in the 100-yard freestyle (50.90).
The North Allegheny swimmers are next in action on February 20-21 at the WPIAL Championships at Joe C. Trees Pool at the University of Pittsburgh.
