NA Blanks Allderdice On The Road, 10-0
The North Allegheny field hockey team returned to section action on Monday afternoon with a visit to Cupples Stadium and came away with an 10-0 victory over the Allderdice Dragons.
The Tigers scored seven goals in the first quarter to take a commanding lead and coasted to the win. Junior Josie Schomburg tallied a hat trick with all three goals coming in the opening stanza. Freshman Addison Burns netted a pair of goals, while senior Isla Abrams, junior Mia Brinkley, senior Sophie Grafton, junior Bailey Yatcko and sophomore Emi Barreiro all scored one goal apiece.
The Tigers, and goalies Kayla Joyce and Emily Vichek, posted the team’s second shutout of the year without facing a shot on net.
North Allegheny improves to 4-4-1 overall and 2-1-1 in section play. Allderdice remains winless with an 0-3 mark. The Tigers will host Norwin on Thursday evening at 5:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
