NA Caps Regular Season With Sweep At North Hills

The North Allegheny Tigers continued jocund Valentine’s celebrations with a harmonious sweep over the rival Indians in fair North Hills High School.

The festivities began with strong diving performances from NA maidens Juliet HoodMaggie Lapina, and Shreeya Kulkharni  and masters Ethan MaravichAndrew Wasco and Reed Messer.   Hood seized top score for the Lady Tigers at 221.85, with Lapina finishing a strong third (174.75) and Kulkharni earning fifth (126.80).  Maravich led the gentlemen (183.50) with Wasco (150.65) in third and Messer (139.00) in fourth.

The Lady swimming Tigers took charge with a first and third place finish in the 200 Medley Relay.  Greta MottTori TieppoDani Hinkson and Natalie Sens led the way (1:50:24) with Angelina LiEmma DietzNatalie Reubi, and Shelby Sundgren (1:58.57) turning in a strong third.  The boys embraced second and third, including Zachary TotinBrendan YatchenkoOwen WilliamsJosh Berty (1:43.40) and Ryan CraneTalon XingMatthew Lindblad, and Jackson Ross (1:52.58).

In the 200 freestyle, the ladies delighted with a 1-3-4 finish, led by Eva Ogden (2:00.92), Julianne Weaver (2:09.40) and Grace Jani (2:12.31).  The boys cherished a 1-2-3 swim including Mason Shantz (1:50.92), Dylan Seiford (1:52.66), and Emmanuel Chu (1:57.20).

The ladies matched the boys’ 1-2-3 in the 200 IM spearheaded by Claire Bacu (2:14.98), Dietz (2:17.03) and Natalie Reubi (2:22.17).  For the boys, Danny Lesinski (1:58.48) savored first, Nicholas Klein (2:08.03) second, and Jake Rechenmacher (2:12.47) fourth.

A tight finish in the Girl’s 50 free had Madden Woycheck (26.07) in second, Dani Hinkson (26.31) in third.  William Gao (22.35), Riley Williams (23.48) and Alex Harbaugh (24.09) scored a 1-2-4 swim.

Tieppo (1:00.97) claimed victory in the 100 Fly, followed by Sundgren (1:03.46) just edging out Greta Mott (1:03.67) for a second and third finish.  The boys were led by Grant Regule (56.54) in second and Seiford (57.35) in third.

Grace Jani (58.28) and Reubi (58.42) provided a 1-2 finish in the Girls 100 Freestyle, while for the boys Gao (49.05), Rechenmacher (51.12), and Xing (52.85) scored first, second and fourth.

Bacu (5:21.16) continued her dominance with first place in the Girls 500 Free, with Sens (5:24.13) in second and Julia Tengowski  (5:31.05) scoring third.  It was a personal best for Shantz (5:02.99) in winning the Boys 500 Free, followed by Berty (5:03.04) in second and Klein (5:17.59) in third.

NA strength and depth shone in the 200 Freestyle relays, with the girls taking first with Tieppo, Julianne Weaver, Tengowski and Bacu (1:46.99) and third with Sundgren, Reubi, Jani and Shea Mahon (1:49.77).  The boys team of Seiford, Shantz, R. Willams and Gus Miller (1:30.30) took first, while Xing, Emmanuel Chu, Klein and Totin (1:36.76) took third.

The ladies and gentlemen of NA then finished the contest with exhibition swimming.
