Two Tigers qualify for PIAA Individual Championships
North Allegheny’s Ravi Desai and Colin Ward went to the Butler Country Club to take part in the WPIAL Individual Championships – Final Round. With the top 14 golfers at the tournament qualifying for the PIAA Individual Championships, both Desai and Ward finished in the top 14 to punch their ticket to Penn State to compete in the state finals.
With scores carrying over from the first round, Ward started the day tied for ninth place and Desai began tied for 11th. Desai posted a 72 on Day 2 and jumped the leaderboard to end up with a sixth-place finish. Ward carded a 75 to finish the day in 11th place.
Desai and Ward advance to the PIAA Individual Championships at Penn State University that will take place on October 20 and 21. The Tigers as a team travel to Meadowink Golf Course to take on Franklin Regional on Wednesday in a playoff tune-up before going to the Links at Spring Church on October 6 to compete in the WPIAL Team Semifinals.
