Daugherty’s Perfect Day at the Plate Leads Tigers to WPISL Championship Win Over Montour

Amara Daugherty collected three hits in three at-bats as the North Allegheny Tigers defeated Montour 7–3 on Saturday to capture the WPISL Championship. The title is NA’s fifth overall and first since the 2020.

The Tigers struck first in the top of the second inning after a Viola Laswell RBI single and a two-run double by Jordan Phillips.

North Allegheny added to its lead in the top of the third after a double by Claudia Kushon, a single by Daugherty, a sacrifice fly by Anna Kovacic, and a Laswell single to center, each bringing home a run.

Laswell got the start in the circle for the Tigers. She allowed nine hits and three runs across seven innings, walking just one.

North Allegheny totaled 11 hits in the win. Laswell and Phillips each drove in two runs. Zoey Bornt recorded a multi-hit game, going 2-for-3. Olivia Klaich, Kushon, and Kovacic each added a hit.

The Tigers were flawless defensively and did not commit an error. Daugherty led the team with six defensive chances.
