NA dominant in sweep of Upper St. Clair

North Allegheny Swimming & Diving hosted the Upper St. Clair Panthers on Tuesday night at the NASH Pool in a non-section contest. Both teams dominated as the NA boys defeated the Panthers by a score of 105-78 while the NA girls won 108-74.

North Allegheny started strong in girls diving as Maggie Lapina (290.05) claimed first place. On the boys side, Ethan Maravich took the top spot with a score of 532.30 with Anthony Farrah (461.05) finishing second.

Eva Ogden, Tori Tieppo, Claire Bacu and Evey Masztak won the first swimming event, the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:50.49.

The boys followed suit with Danny Lesinski, Emmanuel Chu, Mason Shantz and Zachary Totin winning in 1:33.07.

Shelby Sundgren (1:58.64) and Madden Woycheck (1:59.88) placed second and third in the 200 freestyle with Jackson Ross (1:43.15) taking second in that event for the boys.

In the 200 IM, the girls swept with Bacu (2:13.35), Angelia Li (2:16.56) and Natalie Reubi (2:19.07) leading the way. On the boys side, Talon Xing (2:02.88) took third.

In the 50 free, the NA girls swept again, this time with Masztak (25.04), Dani Hinkson (25.24) and Emma Dietz (25.94) finishing top three. The NA boys had Alex Harbaugh place second with a time of 21.49 and Lesinski (21.69) get third.

In the 100 fly, Sundgren (1:00.92) and Annie Elliott (1:02.34) placed two and three, while Peter Ross (53.93) and Chu (54.42) were first and second in the boys event.

Hinkson (53.62) and Li (57.42) placed first and third in the 100 free, while Totin (46.02) and Jackson Ross (49.25) finished second and third for the boys.

Evey Masztak placed first in the 500 free, with a winning time of 5:19.87. Kate Dudro (5:26.03) finished second. Dylan Seiford (4:54.84) won for the boys.

In the 200 free relays, the North Allegheny boys were victorious as Totin, Shantz, Harbaugh and Lesinski raced to a 1:24.26.

Bacu (1:01.81) placed first in the 100 back, with Eva Ogden (1:02.06) finishing second. In the boys event, Brendan Yatchenko (54.14) and Logan O’Keefe (57.67) were the second and third-place finishers.

In the 100 breast, Tieppo (1:05.47), Dietz (1:12.30) and Reubi (1:14.19) were the top trio, with Landon Bolen (59.68) and Shantz (1:03.04) finishing first and third for the boys.

Seiford was named the Wright Automotive Player of the Meet on the boys side. Seiford won the 500 free with a time of 4:54.84 and was apart of the 200-yard medley relay team that came in second. On the girls side, Tieppo claimed Wright Automotive Player of the Meet honors. Tieppo won the 100 breast posting a 1:05.47 and was on the 200-yard medley relay team that won the event.

The Tigers are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Mt. Lebanon to take on the Blue Devils in another non-section contest. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
