Tigers Tame Titans In Season Opener

The North Allegheny boys’ volleyball team opened the season on the road with a non-section match against Shaler on Tuesday. NA took a 3-0 sweep for the first win of the year by set scores of 25-19, 25-13 and 25-21.
Seniors Peter Bratich and Brendan Moore led the way with nine kills each. Fellow senior Will Robertson recorded seven kills. Bratich and junior Aaron Starck each had two blocks, while Moore, Robertson senior Emmett Morris and sophomore Henry Dorn each had an ace.
Morris led the Tigers with nine digs and also registered three assists. Robertson recorded six digs. Senior Jackson Failla paced NA with 16 assists, followed by senior Elliot Swierczynski, who finished with 13.
North Allegheny is set to host the NA Invitational on Saturday before heading to Austin, Texas, for the First Point National High School Volleyball Tournament on March 27th and 28th.
NA’s next non-tournament match is set for Tuesday, March 31st, in section play against Moon at home. The 7:00 p.m. match will be broadcast by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
