NA trumped by Norwin in high scoring affair
North Allegheny traveled to Norwin High School on Wednesday afternoon to take on the Knights in a Section 1-6A contest. The teams went back-and-forth early but an eight-run fourth inning by the Knights got them the separation they needed to defeat the Tigers by a score of 15-8.
Zoe Rychel had three hits and two RBIs for NA. Leah Carlson, Erin Fadgen, Sophia Hubert, Taylor Condiotte and Hayden Robertson all had two hits. Condiotte had two RBIs.
Cailyn Wateska got the start for the Tigers going three innings. Ellie Torchia threw the fourth while Brianna Mensch tossed the final two innings.
North Allegheny falls to 1-5 overall and 1-4 in the section. Norwin improves to 3-2 overall and 3-1 in section play. The Tigers return to action today when they host Pine-Richland at 5:30 p.m. This game will be broadcast live on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
