The North Allegheny boys’ tennis team wrapped up section play on Thursday with a trip to Mars. Although using an adjusted lineup due to illness and injury, the Tigers rolled past the Planets to finish undefeated in the section at 8-0 and remain unbeaten at 10-0 overall.

Junior captain Advaita Sircar once again led the way by downing his first singles opponent in dominating fashion, 6-0, 6-0. Junior Ronit Ginde teamed with a new partner in sophomore Gabe Chu also blanked their second doubles foes, 6-0, 6-0. The clinching point came off the strings of Siddarth Yerram. The junior made his first career start at third singles and made the most of the opportunity by silencing his opponent, 6-0, 6-0. The decisive nature of the win earned Yerram Man of the Match Honors.

Looking to complete the sweep, senior captain Adhav Ramadas and fellow senior Matthew Kampi seemed a bit distracted in the first set, but eventually pulled away at first doubles, 6-3, 6-0. It was up to senior captain Evan Kaufman to complete the sweep. Kaufman returned to the lineup after his silver medal performance at WPIALs to overcome a challenging second singles opponent, 6-3, 6-1.

Next up, the Tigers travel to perennial powerhouse Fox Chapel for a playoff primer on Monday. Match time is scheduled for 3:30 PM.
