Evelyn Disque Signs Letter of Intent with Marist College

North Allegheny Rowing is thrilled to announce that senior Evelyn Disque has signed a letter of commitment to Cox for Marist College, Men’s Rowing. Disque is a 5-year member of NARA, beginning her career on the Middle School developmental team as an 8th grader, and has become an intelligent leader and competitor. A few career highlights for Ms. Disque include an appearance in the Women Junior 4+ Grand Final at Midwest Scholastic Championships ‘23, leading the Women’s Junior 4+ to semi-finals in the prestigious Stotesbury Cup in 2023, and 3rd place in the Women’s Open 4+ at the Speakmon Memorial Regatta ‘23; she also served as the women’s 4x+ coxswain for the Tigers 2021 Head of the Charles bid. Disque was also named to the Midwest Scholastic Honor Roll in 2023, for which athletes must meet the requirements of maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher, having a minimum SAT of 1200 or ACT of 2, and having rowed in a Grand Final at Midwests 2023.

She will join the storied Marist Red Foxes in Poughkeepsie, NY.  She has been accepted into the Honors College and intends to study political science and Communications

Lorelei Schreiber Signs Letter Of Intent with Monmouth University

North Allegheny Rowing is thrilled to announce that Lorelei Schreiber has signed a letter of commitment to row at Monmouth University. Schreiber is a current captain, a 4-year member of the team and has received three Varsity letters.

Career highlights include:

First in the 4x at Huron River Sprints , Second at the Head of the Ohio in the 4x 2022 and 2023;  1st in the 4x at the Head of the Niagara; Gold at the Head of the Hoover in the 4x and the 2x; 1st in the 4x and 3rd in the 2x at Pittsburgh Sprints, Bronze in the 4x at the Midwest Scholastic Championships in 2023.  In 2023, the 4x placed 5th at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta, the world’s largest scholastic regatta.  Lorelei’s career began in 2021 placing 1st in the 8+ and 1st in the 4+ at Pittsburgh Sprints.1

Schreiber will join the Monmouth University Womens Rowing team in New Jersey and plans to study History and Pre-law.

Michael McNaughton Ban Memorial Alumni Regatta

On Saturday September 16th generations of the NA Rowing community gathered at Moraine State Park to row in mixed lineups and reminisce about their experiences and achievements as NA Tigers. All said, 26 alumni jumped back into racing shells, and even more stayed on land with families and current rowers to cheer on their teammates.

The day started with two heats and progression to an A and B Final. The morning wrapped with a picnic and presentation of the Micheal McNaughton Ban Alumni trophy to the day’s winners, who rowed in the Michael McNaughton Ban ‘04 4x shell (which was christened last fall). The line-up was composed of Christopher Ban ‘01 Jordan Ellis ‘04  Bill Francis ‘07 and Anthony Bertucci ‘25.

Alumni gathered again later in the evening for dinner and to honor Class of ‘04 Grad Michael McNaught Ban whos legacy as a fierce competitor, role model, brother, and scholar of the sport the team is working to memorialize in conjunction with the Ban family in the in the form of the Michael McNaughton Ban Memorial Boathouse.
