
Tigers Win Section Joust With Knights, 2-0
The North Allegheny field hockey team rolled to a fourth straight victory with a 2-0 triumph at Norwin on Monday night. The Tigers heavily outplayed the Knights and outshot their opponent, 14-1, and led in penalty corners, 12-0.
North Allegheny’s significant advantage in possession time was apparent early on as freshman forward Josie Schomburg score the game’s first goal with 6:52 to play in the opening stanza for a 1-0 lead. The Tigers put the game out of reach on a goal by junior Lauren Kampi with 12:48 remaining in the fourth quarter to lock up a 2-0 victory.
The win improves North Allegheny’s record to 11-6 overall and 8-3 in Section 1-AAA. Norwin falls to 2-8 in section play. The Tigers will host undefeated Pine-Richland on Wednesday night in the regular season finale. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
