North Allegheny senior Evan Kaufman signed his letter of intent this afternoon to continue his athletic and academic career at Case Western Reserve University where he will join their men’s tennis team.

Kaufman has been apart of three NA boys tennis teams that have reached the WPIAL Championship, winning gold in 2024. He has been ranked as high as ninth in the state of Pennsylvania individually. Kaufman also does well in the classroom posting a 4.37 GPA.

Kaufman will join a Spartans men’s tennis program that made it to the NCAA Division III Championship a season ago. Case Western Reserve has been to at least the NCAA Quarterfinals each of the last five seasons, including winning the national championship in 2023 along with numerous singles and doubles national champions. Kaufman will major in Business Management.

Two members of the North Allegheny boys’ tennis team have decided where they plan on playing at the next level.

Over the weekend, senior Evan Kaufman and junior Advaita Sircar announced they will be heading to Case Western Reserve and the Naval Academy, respectively, when their Tigers careers come to a close.

Kaufman helped guide the Tigers to consecutive WPIAL Team Final appearances as the team won its first championship in 15 years in 2024. Currently ranked #3 in the nation, CWRU has made the NCAA Division III Finals four of the last five years. The Spartans most recently won the national championship in 2023.

In two years as the Tigers’ #1 singles player, Sircar has amassed a remarkable dual-match record of 34-2-1. As a freshman, Sircar won the gold medal at the WPIAL Singles Championships and led the Tigers to their first WPIAL Team Championship in 15 years. As a sophomore, he took silver at both the WPIAL and PIAA Singles Championships and captained the team to a second-place finish in the WPIAL.

Sircar will bolster an already potent Midshipmen lineup of the prestigious Division I Naval Academy that consistently finishes at the top of the Patriot League.
