
Lindsay Breneman breaks school record as Tigers sweep Butler
North Allegheny hosted the Butler Golden Tornado on Thursday afternoon in a Section 3-3A showdown between two undefeated teams. NA was able to sweep the event winning 79.33-70.66 on the boys side and 80-70 on the girls side, handing Butler their first loss on both ends. Lindsay Breneman had a career day breaking the school record in the pole vault.
For the girls, Isabella Costa claimed first place in the 100-meter dash while Maya Currie was the top finisher in the 200-meter dash coming in second. Costa won the 400-meter dash as well. Mary Lucas was the second place finisher in the 800-meter run while NA claimed the top three spots in the 1600-meter run with Elizabeth Pizon winning. Robin Kucler claimed the 3200-meter title while Elizabeth Davis finished runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles. Lola Hood claimed silver in the 300-meter hurdles. The North Allegheny 4×800 relay team won by two seconds. Costa won the high jump and long jump to claim four event titles on the day. Breneman was the top NA finisher in the triple jump finishing in third place before breaking the school record and claiming first place in the pole vault. Taylor Neese was runner-up in the discus while Anna Fiffik won the javelin event. Neese also claimed first in the shot put.
On the boys side, Conor McNeely was the top finisher in the 100-meter dash finishing in second place. McNeely was also the top finisher in the 200-meter with a silver medal finish. Zach Nash won the 400-meter dash while Greg Abel claimed gold in the 800-meter run. Jack Bertram was the winner of the 1600-meter run and the 3200-meter run. Sam Cohn took home the title in the 110-meter hurdles while Grey Lowman was the winner of the 300-meter hurdles. North Allegheny won the 4×800 meter relay as well. Dylan Langdon won the high jump by four inches while Nicholas Humphries won the long jump by a foot and four inches. Peter Gibson was the top Tiger finisher in the triple jump coming in second place. Caleb Bohnenstengel was the top NA finisher in the pole vault coming in third place. Jack Yatchenko won the discus by four feet while Dylan Bobak-Rouce was the top finisher in the javelin coming in third. Yatchenko also won the shot put by just under six feet.

Both NA teams improve to 3-0 overall and in the section. Butler falls to 4-1 overall and in the section on the boys and girls side. The Tigers will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Latrobe to take part in the Wildcat/Spartan Invitational starting at 10 a.m.
