NA Swimmers Dominate All-American Invitational
The North Allegheny swimming team left the competition in its wake at the All-American Invitational as the NA Boys and Girls teams both captured team titles over the weekend. The Lady Tigers posted a team score of 643, over 100 points better than second-place Radnor. The NA Boys totaled a team score of 761, which was over 200 points better than second-place Radnor.
For the Lady Tigers, gold medal winners included junior Torie Buerger, who took first place in the 200-yard IM and 100-yard backstroke. The Tigers filled the podium in the 200-yard freestyle with Molly Smyers, Olivia Kisow and Quinn Frost taking first, second and third place, respectively. The combo of Smyers, Kisow, Olivia Kraus and Mary Flavin won gold in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The Lady Tigers won the 400-yard freestyle relay as well thanks to the efforts of Buerger, Kisow, Lila McGrath and Smyers.
First place finishers for the NA boys included the 200-yard medley relay team of Micah Phillips, Jerry Chen, Tolik Borisov and Branko Kosanovich. The combination of Jack Wright, Josh Galecki, Joel Songer and Kosanovich won gold in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Wright also placed first in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle and was named male swimmer of the meet.
The Tigers won gold, silver and bronze with Chen, Alex Gahor and Jacob McCarron taking the top three spots on the 100-yard breastroke. Chen also finished first in the 200-yard IM, while senior John Ehling won gold in the 500-yard freestyle. Finally, the combo of Wright, Songer, Galecki and Ehling placed first in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

The North Allegheny swimmers return to section action on Thursday night against the Butler Golden Tornado at home at 6:00 p.m.
