The North Allegheny boys’ tennis team completed the home portion of their regular season schedule with a commanding performance against Seneca Valley, downing the Raiders 5-0. The win clinches at least a share of the Section 2 title and leaves the Tigers as the lone unbeaten team in WPIAL Class AAA.

Following up his most recent WPIAL Singles Championship, junior captain Advaita Sircar finished off his Raider opponent in near record time, tying the mark set by Evan Kaufman in the non-official stat. His commanding 6-0, 6-0 victory at first singles assured him Man of the Match honors as he staked the Tigers to the early lead. Juniors Shivum Telang and Ronit Ginde look to be in good form for tomorrow’s section doubles tournament as they routed their adversaries, 6-0, 6-0  at second doubles to increase the lead to two. The deciding point came off of the racquet of senior Anish Ramachandruni who got the spot start and made the most of his appearance as he dismantled his third singles foe, 6-0, 6-0.

Looking to complete the sweep, senior captain Adhav Ramadas and fellow senior Matthew Kampi made quick work of their first doubles challengers, 6-0, 6-0. All eyes then turned to second singles to see if the sweep and clean sheet were in order. Junior Ashwin Sudhakar overcame a sluggish start to take down his Raider rival, 6-1, 6-1 thus completing the team’s third straight sweep and eighth in nine matches.

Tomorrow the doubles teams of Ashwin Sudhakar and Matthew Kampi and Shivum Telang and Ronit Ginde will compete in the Section 2 Doubles Tournament to be held at the NASH courts. Matches are set to begin at 12:00 PM.  Good luck, boys!
