
Fox Chapel defeats North Allegheny on Senior Night

On a night when North Allegheny honored its ten seniors, Fox Chapel stole the spotlight earning a big 17-6 Section 2-3A win at Newman Stadium.
Things started great for the Tigers as Avery Anderson notched her 14th goal of the season just 51 seconds into the game. Hannah Cherry picked up the assist.
Reagan Riordan scored her 18th goal of the year at 3:30, and North Allegheny had a 2-0 lead.
The Foxes would score the seven unanswered goals, and ten of the next eleven to take control.
Trailing 7-2, Anderson scored her second goal of the game on a free position opportunity.
Riordan would net the final three goals of the game for North Allegheny. This marked the fourth straight contest where the junior midfielder had a hat trick or better.
Anderson added and an assist to go along with her two goals, with Sarah Harlan and Madelyn Lemmon also getting assists on the night.
Zehra Ozkaya scored four goals for Fox Chapel (4-3, 3-2), with Meg Delaney and Caroline Grimsley adding hat tricks. The Foxes scored seven of their seventeen goals on free positions.
Fiola Ragan made nine saves for the Tigers, with Ruby Rosenberg making two in the second half for North Allegheny (3-5, 3-3).
The North Allegheny seniors were chosen as the Wright Automotive Players of the Game, to honor their efforts throughout their Tiger careers. Congratulations to Avery Anderson, Hannah Cherry, Viola DelVecchio, Sara Donaldson, Jamie Harlan, Eryn Kelly, Madelyn Lemmon, Tessa McDowell, Riona Redshaw and Maya Scott.
North Allegheny is back in action Monday night, when Shady Side Academy visits for a section tilt beginning at 7PM. The game will be broadcast live on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
