Fox Chapel Upends NA Girls’ Lacrosse

The Lady Tigers traveled to Fox Chapel for an early evening section game and while NA trailed only 11-6 at the end of the first half, Fox Chapel continued to score in the second half and defeated the Lady Tigers, 17-8.

Fox Chapel ran off four unanswered goals to start the game before Sami Mogielski scored with an assist from Abby Washabaugh at 18:03. Marissa Lambert scored at 17:01, taking the ball from the center circle, unassisted. Paige Jones, freshman Lexi McClure (2 goals) and Mogielski all scored for the Tigers to end the first half.

Fox Chapel again ran up four unanswered goals to start the second half before McClure scored her third goal of the night at 3:41, charging through a small opening in the defense. Junior Caroline Palguta would finish out the NA scoring with a beautiful assist from Nadia Durante.  The final score was Fox Chapel 17, North Allegheny 8. Katie Shideler was in goal for NA.

The Lady Tigers slip to 0-2 overall and in Division 1, Section 2. Fox Chapel improves to 2-0 overall and in section play. North Allegheny will visit Franklin Regional on Tuesday night at 7:30 pm.
