Girls’ Lacrosse Falls To Moon On The Road

The North Allegheny girls’ lacrosse team traveled to Moon Area High School for a section matchup Monday night. Moon took the 10-5 win over NA.

In the first quarter, junior Reagan Riordan opened the scoring. The teams were tied 1-1 after the first frame. Riordan scored her second of the night followed by a goal from senior Viola DelVecchio. Moon tallied three goals in the second quarter and led the match 4-2 at the half.

North Allegheny was able to score one goal in the third and fourth quarters by sophomores Lydia Martorella and Sarah Harlan respectively. A six-goal onslaught in the second half iced the game for Moon, including four goals in the third quarter alone.

North Allegheny saw time from both junior Fiola Ragan and sophomore Ruby Rosenberg in net. Each goalkeeper was able to make a save in the game.

With the loss, North Allegheny falls to 1-3 on the season. NA is back in action on Thursday night on the road against Seneca Valley. Opening draw for the contest is slated for 7:30 p.m.
