Manas Kathir Upsets No. 1 Seed But Falls In Semis
Senior Manas Kathir represented the North Allegheny Boys Tennis Tigers at the WPIAL 3A Singles Championship Tuesday afternoon at the NASH Courts. Playing out of the #9 seed, he defeated Ronan Gibbons of Upper St. Clair (#8 seed) in the first round, 10-6. His next opponent was Adam Memije of Gateway, the tournament’s top seed, and Kathir prevailed 10-4. Hobbled by leg cramps, he lost to #4, Devin Collier, of Bethel Park, 6-2, 2-1 (DNF). Congratulations to Manas for an excellent tournament.
