NA Advances To Team Semifinals With Wins Over Shaler, Fox Chapel

It takes a team effort to advance into the playoffs and the Tigers did just that in commanding fashion as both NATF teams defeated Fox Chapel and Shaler in the final sectional meet of the season.  The Lady Tigers were able to win all three relays in the meet.  Sophia Cottone hurdled her way to a win in the High Hurdle race while KC Anton was able to win the 300 Hurdles.  Casey Burton edged out her opponents in the 100m Dash.  Emily Naughton dashed her way to a first place finish in the 400m Dash.  Vittoria LaRosa continued her winning ways in the Pole Vault.  Also in the field, Calista McKinney won the Javelin and freshman Chloe Rau earned top honors in the Discus.

The NA Boys were equally impressive with their performances.  In the field events, Jose Key earned his first win in the Pole Vault competition.  Senior Jake Fritsch won the Javelin and Shot Put while Ayden Owens won the Discus and Long Jump events.  He also raced his way to a first place finish in the High Hurdles.  Christian Parreaguirre’s resilience down the home stretch helped him earn the top place in the 400m Dash over a very competitive field of runners.  Caleb Schaelchlin had a victorious season best performance in the 800m Run.  And TJ Robinson earned his first overall victory in the 300m Hurdles.

The NA Boys are section champs and the NA Girls are runners-up in the section.  Both teams  qualify for the Team Semifinal Playoff meet which will be held next Tuesday.  Location and Time are TBD.

The next meet for the Tigers is Thursday as some of the freshman and sophomores will travel and participate in the Butler 9th and 10th Grade Invitational.
