NA Boys Take 1st Place, Girls Runners-Up At Lady Spartan/Wildcat Invitational

The North Allegheny boys’ track and field team took first place and the girls’ team garnered second place at the Lady Spartan/Wildcat Invitational at Latrobe High School on Friday afternoon. The NA Boys finished with a team score of 131, which was 56 points better than second-place Norwin. The Lady Tigers earned runner-up status with a team score of 105, just seven points behind first-place Hempfield.

For the boys’ team, senior A.J. Foulk was named the MVP Performer for Track events, finishing in first place in the 110m Hurdles and 300m Hurdles. Senior Owen Curran was tabbed the MVP Performer for Field events, taking first place in the High Jump and second place in the 110m Hurdles behind Foulk.

First-place performances for the NA Boys were delivered by junior Khiryn Boyd (100m Dash), sophomore Zach Nash (400m Dash), sophomore Jack Bertram (3200m Run) and senior Andrew Gavlik (Javelin). Second-place efforts were turned in by senior Nicholas Betler (800m), senior Gregory Kossuth (3200m Run) and the 4×400 Relay Team. Taking home bronze medals were junior Connor Williams (800m), senior Joey Rempe (3200m Run) and senior Ryan Handron (Pole Vault).

The Lady Tigers also had impressive performances, including gold medal efforts by junior Eva Kynaston (1600m Run), sophomore Isabella Costa (400m), sophomore Wren Kucler (3200m Run), senior Alaina Fantaski (Javelin) and the 4×400 Relay and 4×800 Relay teams. Taking second place was Costa (Long Jump), freshman Maya Currie (200m) and sophomore Robin Kucler (3200m Run). Senior Ava Como took home bronze in the Pole Vault.
