NA defeats Franklin Regional in match-play format
by: Boys Golf Contributor
On Wednesday, October 1, the Tigers traveled to Meadowink Golf Course in Murrysville to take on the Franklin Regional Panthers. In this non-section matchup, the teams opted for a match-play format—a fun and competitive way to close out the regular season. Both squads had already secured their respective section titles, setting the stage for an exciting tune-up before the playoffs.
With nine points available in each of the four matches, North Allegheny came out on top with a 22–14 victory. The win capped off an impressive regular season for the Tigers, who finished 10–2 in section play and 17–3 overall.
The team will now enjoy a well-deserved break to participate in homecoming festivities and be recognized at the North Allegheny Hall of Fame banquet before shifting focus to the postseason.
Next week, the Tigers will compete at the Links at Spring Church, where they must place in the top three among eight teams to advance to the finals at Cedarbrook Golf Course next Thursday. Click here to check out the bracket.
