NA Drops Non-Section Contest At Shaler
The North Allegheny Tigers lost 14-4 after traveling to Shaler to face the Titans in a non-section matchup. The Titans took an early lead, scoring six runs in the first inning after tallying six hits, two of which were home runs.
North Allegheny racked up eight hits in the contest, but their efforts were not enough against Shaler’s strong offense. Senior Sadie Kelly hit a two-run home run in the second inning, followed by a solo home run by sophomore Sammy Plotsko in the third. Kelly finished the game 2-for 3 with two RBIs. Senior Reagan Sheets and sophomore McKenna Rowlands each also had two hits apiece during the contest.
Junior Anne Melle threw one third of an inning and took the loss for the Tigers. Plotsko entered the circle in the first inning and remained for the duration of the game. She tallied seven strikeouts.
The Tigers will host the Fox Chapel Foxes at 4:00 on Friday.
