NA Edged By Butler For First Loss of Season
The North Allegheny boys’ golf team traveled to Slippery Rock Golf Club on Thursday afternoon and suffered their first loss of the season with a narrow 188-192 defeat to the Butler Golden Tornado. The defeat snaps a five-game winning streak to start the 2023 season for the black and gold.
North Allegheny was led by a pair of 37’s from sophomores Ravi Desai and Colin Ward. Senior Colin Rende carded a 38, while senior Jacob Phrampus added a 39. Junior Chris Hoffman rounded out the scoring with a 41. Butler was paced by Hunter Swidzinski, who led all golfers with an even par 35.
The loss moves North Allegheny’s record to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the section. The Tigers will regroup over the weekend and prepare themselves for four matches next week.
