The North Allegheny field hockey team hosted the talented Magnificat Blue Streaks from Ohio on Saturday afternoon at NAI and fell by a narrow 2-1 final.
After a scoreless first half, Magnificat took a 1-0 lead early in the second half on a straight shot goal from senior Olivia French with 12:07 remaining in the third quarter.
The Tigers tied the game on a penalty corner when junior Lauren Kampi evened the score at 1-1 with 11:40 left in the fourth period. The Blue Streaks broke the deadlock with a penalty corner goal of their own as Myka Evanhouse put Magnificat ahead for good, 2-1.
North Allegheny falls to 2-4 overall following the non-section loss, while Magnificat improves to 7-2 on the season. The Tigers will visit Allderdice on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
