Tigers Drop Section Contest To Rams

The North Allegheny girls’ lacrosse team fell at first-place Pine-Richland on Wednesday night, 12-4, in Section 2-AAA action. Kate Gentile and Hannah Young each posted hat tricks to give the host Rams a 12-1 lead by halftime.

Despite the loss, a bright spot for the Tigers was senior Leigh Failla, who notched a hat trick of her own with five draw controls and three ground balls. Senior Becka Oates scored NA’s other goal on the night. Junior Isla Abrams and senior Charlotte Schreiber also posted three ground balls each. Junior goalie Izzie Trunzo totaled seven saves and three ground balls.

North Allegheny sits 6-5 overall on the season and 4-4 in section play. Pine-Richland remains in first place with a 10-2 overall mark and 7-0 record in Section 2-AAA. The Tigers return home on Friday night for a non-section game against Sewickley Academy. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
