NA girls place third at Butler Invitational
North Allegheny traveled to Butler High School on Saturday to compete in the prestigious Butler Invitational. The NA girls finished with 41 points, good enough for third place as a team. South Fayette claimed the girls title with 58 points. Butler won the boys team championship with 85 points.
For the girls, the NA 4×800 meter relay team finished in sixth place. Lola Hood took seventh in the 100-meter hurdles while Kendra Smith was the eighth-place finisher in the 100-meter dash. Samantha Strelick placed seventh in the 1600-meter run and Lindsay Breneman finished third in the pole vault. Audrey Maxwell claimed the discus throw title and took home the bronze in the shot put. Amara Daugherty and Emma Neese placed third and fourth in the javelin throw.
On the boys side, the North Allegheny 4×100 meter relay team of Rocco Martino, Jack Davis, Bradyn Verdi and Peter Gibson finished in eighth place.

The Tigers return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Pine-Richland High School for a tri-meet with the Rams and Fox Chapel starting at 3:45 p.m.
