NA routs Rams

The North Allegheny Boys’ Tennis Team finished the first half of their section schedule with a trip to neighboring Pine-Richland. Although using a modified lineup due to some early spring breakers, the team still put on a clinic to down the Rams and move to 7-0 on the season.
Once again, it was junior captain Advaita Sircar scoring first for the Tigers with a dominant performance in the top slot against one of the section’s better players, 6-0, 6-2. The second doubles team of junior Shivum Telang and senior Anish Ramachandruni made quick work of the Pine-Richland tandem, 6-0, 6-2 to increase the lead to two. Junior Ashwin Sudhakar appeared comfortable in his new slot at second singles as he blanked his Ram counterpart, 6-0, 6-0 to clinch the match for the visitors.
After giving up a point for the first time this season in their previous match, the Tigers were back on the prowl looking to start another sweep streak. Sophomore Gabe Chu made his first varsity singles start and got his first varsity singles win with a commanding performance at number three. His effort today guaranteed him Man of the Match honors. Finally, the first doubles team of senior captain Adhav Ramadas and senior Matthew Kampi rebounded nicely from their only loss of the season to dominate their Pine-Richland foes, 6-1, 6-2.
Next up, the Tigers heads to Moon for another section match next Tuesday. Match time is set for 3:30 PM.
