NA splits with Seneca Valley in sectional showdown

Approximately a third of the meet was completed on Tuesday and inclement weather ultimately postponed the meet until the following day. Concluding the next day, the NA Girls firmly defeated Seneca Valley 101-49 whereas the Boys team fell to the Raiders 97.5-52.5.
Kendra Smith (100m and 200m) and Lily Ries (1600m and 3200m) dominated their competition by winning both of their individual events. Taylor Neese won the Shot Put competition and placed second in the Discus. Other individual event winners included Lola Hood in the 100m hurdles, Maya Currie in the 400m dash, Elena Farrah in the 300m Hurdles, Avery Ruffus in the Triple Jump and Dereon Alualu in the Discus.
Senior hurdler Sam Cohn was the only Tiger to win an individual performance in the 300m Hurdles race. He also placed third in the High Hurdles. Other notable performances came from Peter Gibson placing second in both hurdle races, Rocco Martino placing second in both the 100m and 200m dashes, Gatik Hirwani racing to second place finishes in the 1600m and 3200m runs, Charlie Gibson throwing a second place finish in the Discus, Jack Curren came in second in the 3200m run, and Matthew Eisenreich sprinting to a second place finish in the 400 dash. Caleb Bohenstengel also pole vaulted high enough to earn second place honors.

The Tigers will travel to Butler on Saturday to compete in the 61st annual Butler Invitational.
