NA takes down Bethel Park in non-section contest

North Allegheny traveled to Bethel Park High School on Wednesday night to take on the Black Hawks in non-section action. Both Tiger teams continued to stay unbeaten as the girls won their meet 99-75 while the boys came away with a 96-81 victory.

In diving, Maggie Lapina (275.35) and Leah Maiolo (202.35) claimed the top two spots for the girls. Ethan Maravich was the winner on the boys side with a 318.70.

The NA girls claimed the top three spots in the 200-yard medley with the team of Evey Masztak, Shelby Sundgren, Eva Ogden and Claire Bacu taking the top spot with a time of 1:52.31. The boys placed first and second as Danny Lesinski, Emmanuel Chu, Alex Harbaugh and Dylan Seiford had the top time at 1:37.43.

In the 200 free, Tori Tieppo (2:01.51) and Sydney DeHainaut (2:02.56) placed first and second for the girls while Mason Shantz (1:51.73) and Ryan Crane (1:52.29) took second and third.

In the 200 IM, the girls swept the podium with Julia Tengowski (2:14.97), Annie Elliott (2:16.71) and Natalie Reubi (2:18.69) being the top three finishers. The boys also claimed the top three spots with Lesinski (1:56.38), Odin Hsu (2:02.00) and Jackson Ross (2:02.20).

The 50 free was also dominated by the NA girls coming first through third with Bacu (25.88), Emma Dietz (25.99) and Lorelai Quinet (26.05). For the boys, Zachary Totin (21.76) and Harbaugh (22.47) placed first and second.

In the 100 butterfly, the Tigers claimed the top three spots on both the boys and girls side. For the girls, it was Masztak (1:01.91), Sundgren (1:02.00) and DeHainaut (1:03.72) while for the boys, it was Talon Xing (53.46), Peter Ross (55.06) and Brendan Yatchenko (55.36).

In the 100 free on the girls side, Dani Hinkson (54.20), Tengowski (55.57) and Eva Zilinski finished top three. On the boys side, Jackson Ross (50.08) claimed the top spot with Logan O’Keefe (51.96) finishing third.

Ogden claimed the 500 free for the girls in a time of 5:17.00 with Dietz (5:20.50) and Angelina Li (5:25.36) finishing second and third. Harbaugh (4:53.90) came in first in the 500 free on the boys side while Totin (5:23.76) finished third.

The NA boys finished first and third in the 200-yard freestyle relay with Lesinski, Peter Ross, Hsu and Jackson Ross claiming the best time of 1:29.21.

With the rest of races being exhibition, here were the top finishers:

Girls 200 free relay: Kate Dudro, DeHainaut, Sundgren, Zilinski – 1:43.17

Girls 100 backstroke: Madden Woycheck – 1:01.19

Boys 100 backstroke: Xing – 53.73

Girls 100 breaststroke: Reubi – 1:13.12

Boys 100 breaststroke: Lesinski – 1:01.87

Girls 400 free relay: Tengowski, Elliott, Dietz, Woycheck – 3:48.94

Boys 400 free relay: Xing, Shantz, Hsu, Seiford – 3:17.58
