Following a lengthy Spring Break, due in part to some unspring like weather, the North Allegheny girls’ lacrosse team returned to action on Thursday afternoon and delivered a 15-3 blowout victory at Sewickley Academy.

The Tigers opened up a 7-1 lead by halftime and never looked back on their way to comfortable win. Senior Bella Fallo sparked the onslaught with six goals, netting five in the first half. Senior Amelia Henderson provided a strong two-way performance with two goals, three groundballs and two caused turnovers.

Junior Leigh Failla contributed to the scoring with a pair of goals. Also touching the scoresheet were Rebecca Oates, Mila Prusak, Laurel Donley, Maya Evans and Charlotte Schreiber who all scored one goal apiece.

North Allegheny controlled every facet of the game, including the faceoffs where sophomore Isla Abrams and junior Sofia Mianzo combined to win 13 of 18 draws. In net, sophomore goalie Izzie Trunzo made six saves to earn the victory.

Winners of six in a row, North Allegheny improves to 6-2 overall and 6-1 in Section 2-AAA. Sewickley Academy slips to 1-3 in section play. The Tigers have a quick turnaround as they’ll host Quaker Valley on Friday night at 5:30 p.m. on Senior Night at Newman Stadium.
