NA’s Rachel Martindale Tabbed Trib 6A Player of the Year, Post-Gazette Player of the Year

North Allegheny senior shortstop Rachel Martindale has received post-season recognition as the Trib Live HSSN’s Class 6A Player of the Year and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette softball Player of the Year for the 2019 season. Additionally, Martindale was named to the Trib 10 all-star team. It’s the second time this school year Martindale has earned honors from the Trib and PG. She was also selected to the Trib 10 and Fab Five for basketball.

On the diamond, Martindale had a dazzling senior year by leading the Tigers in batting average (.479), home runs (5) and runs scored (35). She also posted a sparkling 1.404 OPS while flashing the leather numerous times on defense for the Tigers.

For her career, Martindale posted 101 hits to go along with a career .470 batting average, 14 home runs, 70 RBI and 96 runs scored in just three seasons. Among numerous other accolades, Martindale was named North Allegheny’s Female Athlete of the Year for the 2018-2019 school year. She will continue her basketball career at the University of Akron next season.
