NATF Earns Section Split at Butler

The North Allegheny track and field team traveled to Butler for a tough section meet and earned a split with the Golden Tornado. The NA Girls picked up an 84-66 victory, while the NA Boys dropped an 87-63 decision.

The Lady Tigers earned a hard-fought victory thanks to first-place performances from junior Izzy Costa (100-meter dash and 200m dash), senior Eva Kynaston (1600m run and 3200m run), sophomore Maya Currie (400m dash), junior Kendall Lucas (800m run), senior Jamie Frisco (shot put), sophomore Audrey Maxwell (discus) and sophomore Lindsay Breneman (pole vault). The 32o0 relay team also took first place for the NA Girls.

Despite the loss for the NA Boys, outstanding first-place efforts were turned in by sophomore Sam Cohn (100/110 hurdles), junior Grey Lowman (300 hurdles), junior Nick Humphries (long jump), junior Jack Yatchenko (shot put and discus) and senior Zach Duckworth (pole vault).

The NA Boys are now 3-1 on the season, while the Lady Tigers remain undefeated at 4-0. NATF returns to action on Saturday at the Lady Spartan/Wildcat Invitational in Latrobe.
