NATF Sweeps Section Foes Pine-Richland, North Hills

The North Allegheny track and field team returned to action on Wednesday afternoon at Pine-Richland with a pair of section sweeps for the NA Boys and Girls squads, respectively. The NA Boys defeated Pine-Richland, 125-25, and North Hills, 111-39. The Lady Tigers topped Pine-Richland, 110-39, and North Hills, 126-24.

Helping spearhead a winning effort for the NA boys in both meets were first-place finishes by junior Owen Curran in the 110 Hurdles, senior Dwayne Taylor in the 100m Dash and Long Jump, freshman John Bertram in the 1600m Run, freshman Zachary Nash in the 400m Dash, senior Scott Nalepa in the 800m run, senior Brandon Farr in the 200m Dash, senior Ryan Podnar in the 3200m run, junior Rohan Gupta in the Triple Jump and senior Christian Duckworth in the Pole Vault. The 4×100 Relay team also took first place in both meets.

For the Lady Tigers, first-place performances were turned in against both North Hills and Pine-Richland by junior Rachael Johns in the 100 Hurdles and High Jump, junior Lucia Wells in the 100m Dash, freshman Wren Kucler in 1600m dash, junior Mia Tuman in the 400m Dash, senior Kena Shannon in the 200m Dash, senior Jacqueline DiGiacomo in the Discuss, senior Evelyn Wiethorn in the Javelin, freshman Isabella Costa in the Long Jump, senior Sara Hogan in the Triple Jump and junior Ava Como in the Pole Vault. The 4×800 and 4×100 Relay teams also took first place in both meets.

Following Wednesday’s results, the North Allegheny Boys are 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the section. The Lady Tigers also check in at 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the section. NATF visits Butler for a tri-meet with the Golden Tornado and Shaler Titans on Thursday afternoon.
