Desai was an integral part of the NA golf team’s run to the WPIAL and PIAA championships in 2024. It was the first district title for North Allegheny since 1971 and the first PIAA crown in school history. Desai shot an 80 in the WPIAL Individual Championships to finish in 11th place. He then shot a 72 in the WPIAL Boys Championship, which led the team. Coming off a fifth-place finish in the PIAA Individual Championship, Desai shot a 4-under-par 68 in the state team championship. Last year, the Tigers also won their first section title since 2015, the first outright since 2013.
His golf career has taken him to places around the country so far, including this summer when he finished tied 33rd of 315 at the High School Nationals in Pinehurst.
Along with golf, Desai has been a multi-year contributor on the North Allegheny Ice Hockey Team. Last season, he contributed a goal and four assists in 15 games. Two years ago in 20 games, Desai notched five goals and 13 assists for 18 total points.
