North Allegheny traveled to Penn-Trafford High School on Friday afternoon to take on the Warriors in a playoff tune-up for both squads. The brackets had come out the day before and Penn-Trafford was awarded the top-seed in the 5A playoffs. The Tigers proved they could hang with playoff contenders taking down the Warriors by a score of 3-0. The loss snapped Penn-Trafford’s 17-game winning streak.

Sammy Plotsko tossed a three-hit shutout in the circle and had two hits of her own at the plate while also driving in a run. Leah Carlson had two doubles while Alison Friend and Avelyn Kropf each had two hits for North Allegheny.

North Allegheny finishes the regular season with a 13-7 record. Penn-Trafford falls to 17-2. The Tigers return to action on Wednesday when they take on Norwin in the WPIAL Quarterfinals. The site and time is still to be determined. This game will be broadcast on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
