Strong Start For Tigers At PIAA Class AAA Championships

It was a strong start for the North Allegheny swimming and diving team in day one of the PIAA Class AAA championships on Wednesday.

For the reigning PIAA champion Lady Tigers, two bronze medals were earned in day one, including a third-place finish by senior Natalie Sens in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.33. The quartet of Sens, senior Greta Mott and sophomores Tori Tieppo and Eva Ogden claimed third place in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:43.87. An additional fifth-place finish was earned by Ogden, Sens and sophomores Madden Woychek and Claire Bacu in the 200 free relay.

Also adding to the point total for the NA Girls was Bacu with a ninth-place finish in the 200 free and Mott with a 15th-place showing in the 50 free. For a look at all of the day one results for the Class AAA girls’ competition, click here.

The NA Boys were paced by senior William Gao‘s bronze medal performance in the 100 butterfly, clocking in at 48.89. The 200 medley relay and 200 free relay quartets each earned a fourth-place finish for the Tigers.

Adding to the point total for the NA Boys was junior Grant Regule with a seventh-place effort in the 50 free, sophomore Danny Lesinski in the 200 IM, sophomore Zachary Totin with a 10th-place performance in the 100 butterly, and junior Gus Miller took 15th in the 200 IM.
