Third Time is the Crown

On his third attempt at WPIAL gold and second try with sophomore partner Richard Hofmann, senior Jared Isaacs (and Hofmann) captured the WPIAL AAA Doubles Championship Tuesday afternoon at the Monroeville Racquet Club.  The 1st seeded Tigers duo took 47 minutes to dispatch Naman Dua and Tanay Kumta of Shady Side Academy, the 7th seeds, 6-1, 6-0.  Over the two day tournament Isaacs and Hofmann played 47 games, winning 43.  With the WPIAL crown and a strong seed in hand, Isaacs and Hofmann have their sights set on repeating as the PIAA Champions.  (Isaacs will be searching for his third title.)  The State Championships will take place May 27 and 28 at the Hershey Racquet Club.
