Game 1

North Allegheny opened Sunday’s doubleheader with a hard‑fought 6–5 loss, falling in a walk‑off in the seventh inning. The Tigers rallied late to erase a three‑run deficit and briefly take the lead, but Bethel Park pushed across two runs in its final at‑bat to claim the opener.

NA struck first in the third when Amara Daugherty doubled home a run. Bethel Park answered later in the inning to move in front, and the Tigers spent the middle frames chipping away until their breakthrough in the seventh. A. Daugherty’s fielder’s choice brought home a run, Jordan Phillips followed with a single to center, Evie Sattler added another on a groundout, and Megan Sweeney capped the surge with a double to left as NA jumped ahead 5–4.

Bethel Park responded in the bottom half to retake the lead and end the game.

Viola Laswell pitched into the seventh, allowing six runs—four earned—on 13 hits. At the plate, Laswell, Sweeney, A. Daugherty, and Lily Daugherty each collected two hits, with A. Daugherty driving in a team‑high two runs. NA also drew eight walks and turned a double play defensively.

Game 2

Bethel Park controlled the second game from the early innings, and North Allegheny fell 14–1 in the nightcap. The Hawks put together several big frames to build a lead the Tigers couldn’t overcome.

Laswell started again for NA and worked four innings. Despite the score, the Tigers found a bright spot in Amara Daugherty, who delivered NA’s lone run and finished a perfect 2‑for‑2 at the plate. A. Daugherty accounted for two of the team’s five hits and reached base in both trips.

North Allegheny will look to regroup as it continues through the fall schedule.
