
Tigers Breeze By Golden Tornado

It was another sweep for the Tigers over the Golden Tornado at Butler on Thursday night. The NA Girls earned a 110-71 victory, while the NA Boys claimed a 102-63 win. Both North Allegheny teams are 6-0 for the season.
In Butler, the NA divers had another successful outing with Lola Malarky (score 291.4) and Ethan Maravich (209.8) bringing home 1st place honors for the girls and boys. Maggie Lapina followed up with a strong 2nd place finish for the girls with Andrew Wasco and Reed Messer picking up 3rd and 4thplace points respectively for the boys.
On the swimming side, the relay line ups have been shaken up, keeping things lively. In the 200 Medley Relay, the girls took 1st, 2nd and 4th. The whirlwind, winning line up consisted of Greta Mott, Emma Dietz, Tori Tieppo, Julianne Weaver (1:57.06). Eva Ogden, Shelby Sundgren, Angelina Li, Madden Woycheck (1:59.79) finished 2nd. The boys took 1st and 2nd. William Gao, Matthew Lindblad, Zachary Totin, Nicholas Klein (1:44.74) and Danny Lesinski, Mason Shantz, Brendan Yatchenko, Josh Berty (1:45.13).
In the 200 free relay, the ladies took 1st and 2nd. Dani Hinkson, Julia Tengowski, Leah Laughlin, Li(1:48.19) won. Ogden, Natalie Reubi, Grace Jani, Weaver (1:48.95) 2nd. The quick quartet of Jackson Frazer, Grant Regule, Talon Xing, Dylan Seiford (1:32.28) won the Boy’s event. Caden Currykosky, Gus MIller, Owen Williams, Yatchenko (1:34.54) came in 3rd.In the Girls 200 Free, the swift Natalie Sens won (1:58.95 PB). Hinkson (2:06.53) took 3rd. Jani (2:09.45) took 4th. The boys swept 1st, 2nd, 3rd in the 200 free. Regule (1:49.75-PB) with a decisive 1st place, Alex Harbaugh (1:52.08) 2nd, Owen Williams (1:54.00) 3rd.02.14 PB) won the Girls 100 Fly. Reubi (1:03.26) took 2nd. Sundgren (1:04.52) took 4th. Scorchingly fast Seiford (57.04 PB) won on the boys side. Regule (59.24 PB) took 3rd. Xing (1:00.93 PB) took 4th. Turbo fast Tengowski (57.41) took home yet another individual victory in the Girls 100 Free. Jani (59.5) took 3rd. Brianna Reinhart (1:01.5) took 5th. The boys took 2nd, 3rd, 4th. Currykosky (51.52). Jackson Ross (53.43) The Golden Tornadoes took 1st place in the 500 free, but the Lady Tigers’ depth captured the points for 2nd through 4th place, Mahon (5:43.59), Laughlin (5:45.39 PB), Weaver (5:49.63 PB). Though swimming their off strokes, the boys swept 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Totin (5:07.05), usually known for his PIAA level sprinting, dropped over 19 seconds. Yatchenko (5:12.63). Rechenmacher (5:30.80). The Lady Tigers swept 1st, 2nd, 3rd in the 100 Back. Sens (1:02.24) 1st, Sundgren (1:03.95) 2nd, Dietz (1:06.44) 3rd.
A very tight race in the Girls 200 IM had Claire Bacu (2:15.8-PB) carving out a 0.19 second advantage for the win. Kieran Yeakel (2:29.08) took 4th. Shea Mahon (2:32.26) took 5th. The boys took 1st, 2nd, 4th. Dylan Seiford (2:07.79PB) created a healthy lead for the win. Riley Williams(2:13.95) came in 2nd and Frazer (2:19.12) 4th. Tengowski swam a fleet 26.43-PB to win the Girls 50 free. Tieppo (26.76)2nd. Li (27.22-PB) 4th. The boys took 1st, 3rd, 4th. Gao (22.29) for the win. Xing (24.16PB) 3rd. Emmanuel Chu(24.36 PB) 4th. A meteoric Mott (1:Both Tiger teams went to exhibition at this point. Chu’s (59.43 PB) 100 back is notable for being sub minute and would have taken first place had points been still been awarded.
