After a series of weather-related cancellations, the North Allegheny boys’ tennis team finally got back in action with their first road trip of the early season. The team traveled to the South Hills to square off against Chartiers Valley. If the Tigers were rusty after over a week off, it was impossible to tell as they dismantled the host Colts, 5-0 without dropping a single game.

Leading the way for the visitors was junior captain Advaita Sircar. The Navy commit quickly staked NA to a 1-0 lead with a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles earning him Man of the Match distinction. Not long after, the Tigers doubled their lead as junior Ashwin Sudhakar and senior Matthew Kampi similarly vanquished their opponents at first doubles, 6-0, 6-0. The clinching point of the match came off of the racquet of senior captain Evan Kaufman. The Case Western Reserve recruit was not to be outdone as he won 6-0, 6-0 at second singles.

With the match in hand, the only thing left to be decided was whether a third sweep of the young season was in order. Juniors Shivum Telang and Ronit Ginde staved off a feisty tandem at second doubles to prevail 6-0, 6-0. At third singles, Adhav Ramadas made sure the Tigers would complete the shutout. The always reliable senior captain preserved the clean sheet and the perfect match, 6-0, 6-0.

Tomorrow, the Tigers heads east to take on perennial playoff contender, Franklin Regional. Time of the match is set for 3:30 PM.
