Tigers Drop Regular Season Finale at Peters Township

The North Allegheny girls’ lacrosse team dropped a 16-11 decision at Peters Township on Thursday night in the regular season finale. The Tigers fell behind 10-4 by halftime and couldn’t quite overcome the deficit in the second half. Senior Karson Martin led the Indians with a six-goal performance.

North Allegheny was paced by Mercyhurst commit Allison Lyon with a hat trick, two caused turnovers and a pair of ground balls. Sophomore Isla Abrams turned in a fine all-around outing with a pair of goals, three assists, six draw controls and two ground balls. Senior Bella Falo and junior Leigh Failla tallied two goals each, while freshman Avery Anderson and junior Mila Prusak all netted one goal apiece.

On the defensive end, junior Rebecca Oates notched five caused turnovers and two ground balls. Sophomore Izzie Trunzo made six saves in the loss.

North Allegheny falls to 10-6 overall and will open the WPIAL Class AAA playoffs on Tuesday at home against the Canon-McMillan Big Macs. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
