Tigers Edged At Fox Chapel Invitational, Take 2nd Place

Playing for the first time at the Pittsburgh Field Club, the North Allegheny Boys Golf Team took second place at the Fox Chapel Invitational and narrowly missed first place by a stroke. The Fox Chapel-White Team garnered top honors with a score of 204, followed closely behind by North Allegheny’s 205.  Fox Chapel-Red earned third place with a 208 and Pine-Richland rounded things out with a score of 211. Junior Martin Lazzaro and senior Mike Sudo played through windy and cold conditions on Friday afternoon to each shoot a 39 and pace North Allegheny. The top players of the day were Anthony Cordaro for Fox Chapel-Red and Mike Gerger for Fox Chapel-White who each shot a 38.

North Allegheny is now 9-2 overall following their second place showing at the Fox Chapel Invite. Next up for NA’s golfers is the WPIAL Qualifier on Tuesday at Highland. The Tigers return to section action on Wednesday with a home tri-match against Seneca Valley and Butler starting at 3:30 pm.  For more details on Friday’s Fox Chapel Invitational, see below.
