Tigers mash Mars on Senior Day

by: Boys Golf Contributor

The Tigers wrapped up a galaxy-sized week of competition by hosting their fourth section match in just seven days, welcoming the Planets of Mars for a Senior Day showdown.

Under the blazing sun, senior Ravi Desai blasted off with an out-of-this-world 4-under-par round to set the tone. Orbiting close behind were senior Colin Ward and junior Kyle Seidl, each steady as satellites with even-par 36s. Senior Mike Huet added a sharp 37, and fellow senior Preston Troiano kept the momentum with a 39. Together, the Tigers launched the Planets out of orbit, sending them on a mission to find a win elsewhere in the solar system.

Mars was anchored by Jackson Geiger, who fired a stellar 1-under 35.

The victory rockets the Tigers to 9–2 in section play and 15–3 overall. Next stop: Monday’s WPIAL Individual Qualifiers at Saxon Golf Course, where Cooper, Desai, Huet, Troiano, and Seidl will need to post an 83 or better to continue their flight path to the WPIAL Semifinals at Willowbrook CC. The Tigers return to their home galaxy on Tuesday, closing out the regular season by hosting New Castle in the final section match before launching into the team playoffs.
