Tigers neutralize North Hills

The North Allegheny Boys’ Tennis Team played their second section match in as many days as they hosted the neighboring North Hills Indians. It was more of the same for the home team as they cruised to a 5-0 victory to remain undefeated on the season.
Junior captain Advaita Sircar quickly got the hosts on the board by blanking his first singles foe, 6-0, 6-0. Senior and fellow captain Evan Kaufman almost immediately doubled the lead with a similar result at second singles, 6-0, 6-0. The decisive point came off of the racquets of juniors Shivum Telang and Ronit Ginde as they also silenced their opponents, 6-0, 6-0. Assuring the team triumph was enough to net the tandem Men of the Match honors.
With the match in hand, the only thing left to decide was whether the Tigers would complete the sweep for the fifth straight match to start the season. Senior captain Adhav Ramadas took care of business at third singles by downing his adversary, 6-0, 6-0. While the sweep was in order, the clean sheet was not meant to be as junior Ashwin Sudhakar and senior Matthew Kampi lost their first game of the year at first doubles, but still trounced the Indians duo, 6-0, 6-1.
Tomorrow, the team welcomes 25-time WPIAL Class AA Champions Sewickley Academy to “The Cage”. Matches begin at 3:30 PM.
