Tigers Play to Scoreless Draw With Blue Devils

The North Allegheny field hockey team played to a 0-0 draw at Mt. Lebanon on Wednesday night in a Section 1-AAA contest. It was third overtime game this season for the Lady Tigers, going 1-0-2 in such contests. For Mt. Lebanon, it was the second consecutive tie. The Blue Devils played to a 2-2 stalemate with Peters Township earlier in the week.

North Allegheny held a slim advantage in penalty corners, 8-7, but Mt. Lebanon outshot the Tigers, 26-8. Despite the hefty advantage in shots, the Blue Devils couldn’t beat junior goalie Kayla Joyce, who stopped all 26 shots she faced. Mt. Lebanon goalie Olivia Marcovitz did her part to keep the game scoreless by making eight saves on the night.

Following the tie, North Allegheny has a 5-5-2 overall record and 3-2-2 mark in Section 1-AAA. Mt. Lebanon remains in second pace in the standings with a 4-1-2 section mark and 6-1-2 record overall. The Tigers will host Peters Township on Tuesday for another important section contest. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
