Tigers put up historic effort in sweep of Fox Chapel

North Allegheny vs Fox Chapel was history making as record after record was broken by both teams but when the dust settled NA was on top.  Zachary Totin and Danny Lesinski both put their names on the wall, as well as the Boys 200 Medley and 200 Free Relays.  The Girls’ highlights were Freshman Annie Elliott posting a 24.79 50 Free, Sydney DeHainaut with her first WPIAL cut and PB 25.10 50 Free, and 3 amazing Relay teams.

Beginning with the 200 Medley Relay, the NA Girls took 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Pl. The Tiger’s top quartet of Dani Hinkson, Tori Tieppo, Eva Ogden, and Madden Woycheck swam a blazing 1:45.68. The NA Boys swept 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Pl.  The team of Danny Lesinski, Emmanuel Chu, Mason Shantz, and Zachary Totin won, smashing a Pool Record with a 1:32.87.

In the 200 Freestyle, the NA Girls dominated with a 1st, 2nd, and 5th finish. NA’s top swimmer, Claire Bacu finished with a time of 1:50.92. The NA Boys took 1st, 3rd, and 4th Pl. The Tiger’s winner, Jackson Ross finished with a PB time of 1:42.54. Max Frazer had a PB 1:57.14.

A fast 200 IM saw the NA Girls take 3rd, 4th, and 5th. North Allegheny’s top swimmer, Tori Tieppo touched the wall at 2:10.79. The NA Boys swept with a 1, 2, 3 Finish. NA’s top swimmer was Emmanuel Chu, with a time of 1:55.67. Peter Ross (1:59.26) and Cayden Hollenbeck (2:11.93) both had personal bests.

In the 50 Freestyle, the NA Girls sprinted to 1st, 3rd, and 4th Pl. NA Girls’ top finisher, Madden Woycheck won with a 24.36. NA Boys crushed it with 1st, 2nd, and 5th! Leading the Tigers was Talon Xing with a 22.21.

The 100 Butterfly saw the NA Girls with a 1st, 2nd, and 4th Pl finish. NA’s winner was Dani Hinkson with a time of 57.64. NA Boys had another 1,2,3 sweep. Tiger Boys’ top swimmer was Zachary Totin with a pool record 51.31. Mason Shantz (51.72), Odin Hsu (52.09), and Daniel Laughlin (58.18) all had personal bests.

Battling in the 100 Freestyle, NA Girls finished with 2nd, 3rd, and 4th PL. NA’s fastest was Madden Woycheck with a 53.81. The NA Boys came in 1st, 2nd, and 4th PL. NA’s winner Alex Harbaugh clocked a PB 47.69. Dylan Seiford (47.85) and Noah Cochrane (53.87) also had personal bests.

For the 500 Freestyle, the NA Girls took 2nd, 3rd, and 6th. NA swimming’s top finisher was Clair Bacu with a time of 4:59.52.  Another 1, 2, 3 sweep for the NA Boys! NA’s winner was Jackson Ross with a PB 4:41.86.  Peter Ross (4:52.00) also with a personal best.

Teamwork time in the 200 Freestyle relay with NA girls in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Pl finish. NA Girls fastest Eva Ogden, Madden Woycheck, Evey Masztak, and Claire Bacu finished with an amazing 1:37.07. The NA Boys brought home 1st, 3rd, and 4th Pl. Zachary Totin, Alex Harbaugh, Dylan Seiford, and Mason Shantz won with a Pool Record 1:26.37 finish.

In the 100 Backstroke, the Tiger Girls were 2nd, 3rd and 5th. NA’s best finisher was Dani Hinskon with a 58.67.  The NA Boys were done breaking records and went into exhibition. Odin Hsu (54.02) and Ryan Crane (56.38) both had personal bests.

The 100 Breaststroke had Girls crushing 1st, 2nd, and 4thPL with Shelby Sundgren winning in 1:07.26.  NA Boys’ Caden Hollenbeck (1:05.16) and Daniel Laughlin (1:12.68) swam personal bests.

And with that the Girls also went into exhibition.

The final scores, for the Girls NA  100.5 over FC 82.5 and for the Boys NA 108 over FC 70.

North Allegheny returns to action on Wednesday against Norwin. The meet will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
