Tigers Roll Past Ramblers
The North Allegheny track and field team hosted Cathedral Prep on a damp Friday afternoon and earned a pair of dominant victories. The NA Boys rambled on to a 135-15 triumph, while the Lady Tigers cruised to a 124-26 win.
Impressive first-place performances were turned in by a bevy of athletes for the NA Boys, including sophomore Sam Cohn (110-meter hurdles), senior Khiryn Boyd (100m dash), senior Michael Gauntner (1600m run), freshman Brady Brinkley (400m dash), junior Grey Lowman (300m hurdles), junior Greg Abel (800m run), junior Conor McNeely (200m dash), junior James Behrend (3200m run), junior Dylan Langdon (high jump), junior Nicholas Humphries (long jump), junior Jacob Yu (triple jump), sophomore Nathan Orlando (discus throw), junior Kyle Langdon (shot put), senior Zach Duckworth (pole vault) and junior Dylan Bobak-Rouce (javelin throw). The NA Boys also took first place in the 4×100 and 4×400 relays.
The Lady Tigers were led by first-place finishes courtesy of junior Isabella Costa (100m dash, 400m dash and high jump), sophomore Ava Thayer (110m hurdles and 300m hurdles), junior Kendall Lucas (800m run), sophomore Maya Currie (200m dash), freshman Mia Barsotti (long jump), senior Jacqueline Junko (triple jump), senior Lauren Burks (discus throw), senior Jamie Frisco (shot put), sophomore Lindsey Breneman (pole vault) and freshman Amara Daugherty (javelin throw). The NA Girls also garnered first-place honors in the 4×100 and 4×400 relays.
With both teams sitting at 3-0 on the season, the Tigers will return to section action with a visit to Butler on Wednesday, April 10.
