The North Allegheny girls’ lacrosse team faced a familiar opponent in the WPIAL First Round, taking on Peters Township Tuesday night from Confluence Financial Partners Stadium. The Indians prevailed, similar to the regular season meeting last week, with a 15-9 victory.

Trailing by two goals after the first quarter, North Allegheny’s offense emerged with goals from sophomore Briana Elias and senior Avery Anderson via the free position. Peters scored four straight goals, including a hat trick from senior Emma Kail to take a 6-2 lead into the third quarter.

Senior Madelyn Lemmon scored to cut the lead in half, but the Indian offense picked right up where they left off in the second quarter, scoring four more goals in a row. Sophomore Sarah Harlan found twine in the final minutes of the third period to make it a 10-4 contest.

Junior Reagan Riordan found the back of the net to open scoring on a free position in the fourth, but Peters added three more goals to take a 13-5 advantage. Harlan scored her second of the game with just under eight minutes remaining. Late markers from Riordan, Anderson and a hat-trick free position goal from Harlan gave the Tigers some life as the game came to a close.

The Indians were paced by four-goal performances from Kail and junior Dana Anderson. Julia Platt and Eiley Zurich each also had two goals apiece. The Indians advance to take on the third-seeded Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils on Thursday night.

Despite the score, junior goalkeeper Fiola Ragan had many key saves in net for the Tigers, making multiple stops on relentless free position opportunities from the Indians. Harlan was named Wright Automotive Player of the Game for her efforts.

Anderson ends her senior campaign with 24 goals, good enough for second-best behind Riordan’s 40. Anderson finishes her Tiger career with 87 career goals. Lemmon also ends her Tiger career with 35 career markers.

North Allegheny finishes the 2025 season with a 4-13 overall record and 3-5 section mark. This is now the sixth season in a row that NA has qualified for the WPIAL Playoffs.
